In the 1939 Register, William M. Norman (b. 27 Jan 1892), public works labourer, and wife Gwendoline (Ellen) (b. 22 Nov 1894), were living at 104 Middle Street, Pontypridd.

The death occurred on January 13, at his home, of Mr. William Morgan Norman, aged 68, of 104 Middle Street, Pontypridd.
A Native of Treforest, Mr. Norman had been employed in the Chainworks for 10 years before ill-health forced him to retire. In the 1914-18 War he saw service abroad with the 5th Battalion, The Welch Regiment, and was in Egypt for four years.
Among Mr. Norman's hobbies were decorating and general repairs. He and his wife had lived in Middle Street for 38 years.
The funeral took place at Glyntaff on January 17, the Rev. D. A. Hughes (St. David's) officiating.
Chief mourners were: Bert, brother; Jeffrey, Tommy and Jimmy, nephews; Will Norman, cousin; Mr. Morris, brother-in-law. Other relatives and friends met at the cemetery.
