The eldest son of Anthony Blagrave, the purchaser of Southcote, was called John. Like his father, he served as High Sheriff of Berkshire (1624), but was also knighted by the King. He lived at Southcote, while his brother, Anthony, another High Sheriff (1645), resided at OId Bulmershe." 3
