In 1861 Benjamin Trewartha (60) of Illogan, house proprietor, and wife Elizabeth (52) of Illogan, were living at 4 Trewartha Terrace Madron. With them was niece Mary Shakerley (16) of Camborne.
In 1871 Benjamin Trewartha (70) of Illogan, retired farmer, and wife Elizabeth (63) of Illogan were living at 4 Trewartha Trewartha Terrace Penzance.

Abstract of the Will of Benjamin Trewartha late of Penzance in the County of Cornwall, gentleman, who died 5 May 1874 at Penzance was proved 12 December at Bodmin by John Garland Shakerley of Penzance, bank cashier, one of the executors substituted. Probate being granted under certain specialties. Effects under £2,000.
Gives to his son William Trewartha all his property, which is to say, all his freehold and leasehold tenements and premises as well as all his money whether actual or invested.
Gives to his niece Mary Shakerley all his plate, linen, books and furniture, as well as £10.
Gives £10 to his nephew John Garland Shakerley.
Appoints his son William Trewartha sole executor of his last will and testament. And in case he is abroad at the time of his decease, he appoints Robert Tweedy of Truro, Esq., his brother-in-law M. Charles Garland of Penzance and his nephew John Garland Shakerley to be joint executors in Trust for his son William Trewartha.
