In February 1898 Catherine and her husband Edgar Howard Rideout were divorced, he paying her alimony of £60 per annum.

At the time of the 1911 England Census Catherine Rideout, aged 47, born in Halifax Yorks, married (mother of 1 child), was with her brother John William Drury at Snowlands, Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire.
In the 1939 Register Catherine Rideout (b. 30 Aug 1863), widowed, and son John H Rideout (b. 8 Aug 1897), electrical fitter, were with [Catherine's brother] John W Drury, retired bank official, at 2 Westfield Road, Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire.
