At the time of the 1861 England Census Griffin Nicholas, aged 47, born in St. Marylebone Midx, Army Major retired..., and wife Fanny, aged 26, born in Wellingboro Northamptonshire, were living in Thornbury Road, Heston Middlesex. With them were children John G. G. (6) of Mauritius (British subject), Mary M (5) of Sinla E. J. (British subject), Frances C. (3) of Folkstone Kent, Griffin N. (2) of Lewes Sussex, and William S. G. (5 months) of East Grinstead Sussex.

At the time of the 1871 England Census Griffin Nicholas, aged 57, born in Marylebone, retired Major 5th Foot full pay, and wife Fanny, aged 36, born in Wellingborough Northampton, were living at 7 Malvern Villas, Isleworth Middlesex. With them were daughter Clara Dionysia (6) of Hounslow, and mother Ann Nicholas (83) of Stanmore Middlesex, widow.

At the time of the 1881 England Census Griffin Nicholas, aged 67, born in Marylebone London, major retired full pay 5th Regt., and wife Fanny, aged 46, born in Northampton, were living at 5 Malvern Villas, Isleworth Middlesex.

At the time of the 1891 England Census Griffin Nicholas, aged 77, born in Marylebone London, major in the army, and wife Fanny, aged 56, born in Northampton, were living in Wellington Place, Sandgate, Cheriton Kent. With them was daughter Clara D (26) of Hounslow Middlesex.

Griffin Nicholas Major Northumberland Fusiliers and Honble Corps Gentleman at Arms, eldest son of Robert and Ann Nicholas, died 8th August 1894, aged 81. Also his wife Fanny Nicholas died 19th March 1908, aged 73. 4
