In 1746 Edward Nicholas, son of Edward Nicholas, was bequeathed a tenement called Bear and Castle with the Barkside Stables and surrounding grounds, in the Will of his uncle John Nicholas of Devizes, on the passing of his aunt Jane Nicholas.
In 1761 Edward Richmond Nicholas, Batchelor of Physick, and his wife Jane, were each bequeathed £20 in the Will of Edward's aunt Jane Nicholas of Devizes, spinster.
Eldest son Oliffe Richmond Nicholas, christened 18 Jul 1753 in Devizes St. Mary, died there aged 13 years on 3 Mar 1767. Later in the same year Edward Richmond Nicholas was bequeathed £1,000 in the Will of his aunt Joanna Richmond of Ashton Keynes, spinster, to go to his two sons Robert and John after his decease.
In 1769 Edward Richmond Nicholas was bequeathed £500 in the Will of his father-in-law William Neate of Devizes.

Abstract of the Will of Edward Richmond Nicholas of Devizes in the County of Wilts, Batchelor of Physick, written 9 Jun 1767, proved 10 Jul 1770. 4
Gives & devises in Trust to his friends Charles Garth, Esq., Townsend Andrews, Esq., and his brother-in-law Robert Neate, all his messuages, farm lands & hereditaments in Roundway in the parish of Bishops Canning in co. Wilts, and also the messuage or dwelling house in Devizes wherein he now lives, with the outhouses, buildings, stable, courts, yards, garden & appurtenances, subject to and chargeable with the payment of a legacy of £2500 to his younger son, John Nicholas whose upkeep, education etc should be paid for out of the rents & profits of the above messuages, farm lands &c., until he reaches the age of twenty-one years, after which the same shall be held in Trust for his son Robert Nicholas and his heirs. And if Robert has no heirs, then in Trust for his said son John Nicholas and his heirs. And in default of issue, then he gives & devises his messuages, farms lands &c. to his uncle Oliffe Richmond, Esq. for life, and after his death, to his two aunts Joanna Richmond and Jane Richmond....
Gives to his maidservant Jane Savage an annuity or yearly rent of £20 for the term of her natural life.
Makes, ordains & appoints the said Charles Garth, Townsend Andrews, Robert Neate and Joanna Richmond joint executors of his last will and testament, and as joint guardians of his two sons until they reaches their respective ages of twenty-one years.
Gives 10 guineas each to the said Charles Garth, Townsend Andrews and Robert Neate to buy themselves rings or any other memorial of him.

In a codicil dated 11 Dec 1768, he directs that, as his uncle Oliffe Richmond, Esq., and his aunt Mrs Joanna Richmond, have since died, an undivided moiety of certain messuages, farm lands & hereditaments in the parishes of Ashton Keynes and Cliffe Pipard in co. Wilts, and South Cerney & Lightpill in co. Gloucester, which descended to him as son and heir of his late mother, Bridget Nicholas, one of the sisters of the said Oliffe Richmond and Joanna Richmond, now go to his two sons Robert Nicholas and John Nicholas...
