At the time of the 1851 England Census Sophia Nicholas, aged 65, born in Ashton Keynes, Wilts, unmarried, was with her sister Frances Nicholas in Paddington Middlesex.

Letters of Administration (with the Will annexed) of the personale estate and effects of Sophia Nicholas late of Brook House Upper Clapton in the county of Middlesex, spinster, deceased, who died 1 March 1866 at Brook House aforesaid, were granted 15 May at the Principal Registry to George Baring Brown Collier of Avonhurst near Stratford-on-Avon in the county of Warwick, esquire, the nephew, one of the residuary legatees substituted in the said Will, he having first been sworn. 2
