In 1871 Everett Motley (32) of Kirkby Bain Lincs., labourer in iron, and wife Eliza (27) of Kirton Lindsey, were living at 36 Back St., Brightside Bierlow, Yorkshire. Present were children (born in Sheffd. Yorks.): Lusa (6) of Brigg Lincs., scholar, Walter (5), Charles (3), scholar, Thomas (1), Frederick (8 months) of Leeds Yorks., brother-in-law Thos. Dawson (20) of Kirton Lindsey, labourer in iron.

In 1881 Everitt Mottley (42) of Kirkby Bain, drayman, and wife Eliza (34) of Kirton Lindsey, were living at 15 Court House 5 Bramber St, Brightside Bierlow. Present were children (born in Sheffield): Walter (15), labourer (steel works), Charles (13), scholar, Thomas E. (11), scholar, Harry (8), scholar, George (2), brother Frederick (18) of Leeds (NB: this is incorrect, as Frederick of Leeds is shown in the 1871 as the youngest son and should be shown as aged 10. He could not have been a brother of Everett, since Everett's parents died in the 1840s.)

Everitt married Eliza DAWSON, daughter of John DAWSON and Unknown, on 10 Aug 1863 in Bigby All Saints, Lincolnshire, England ¹. (Eliza DAWSON was born about 1844 in Kirton in Lindsey, Lincolnshire, England and died in 1844 in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England ⁵.)
