Eli Jenkins of Cadoxton died aged 15 years (burial record).

CADOXTON-JUXTA-BARRY.
The inhabitants of this place and those of the surrounding neighbourhood, were greatly alarmed on Monday morning, in consequence of the report that Eli Jenkins, a young lad about the age of 15, the son of Thomas and Elizabeth Jenkins, of this place had been drowned whilst bathing. The report proved too true ; he was bathing a little to the east of Cadoxton Mill. It was high tide. He was a pupil of Mr. Trice, Charles-street, Cardiff. On the following day an inquest took place at the Wenvoe Arms, before R. L. Reece, Esq., and a respectable jury, when a verdict of "drowned while bathing," was returned.
