Abstract of the Will of Barbara Lloyd of Llêch y Cwyn in the Parish of Maentwrog in the County of Merioneth, Widow, written 1 Sep 1740, proved 22 Aug 1741.
Gives and bequeaths to her son John Lloyd all her linen, plate, gold watch and wearing apparel and whatever else of her household stuff deemed necessary by her cousin Jane Brynker to be kept and reserved for his use.
Refers to the will of her late husband John Lloyd dated 30 Nov 1731 wherein a power was reserved for him to charge his messuages, tenements, lands, hereditaments & premises in Kefnvaes, Ddwryd and Cae Eignion Allain with the sums of £150 and £100 to be paid within six months after the decease of Richard Lloyd and Elizabeth his wife to his wife in Trust as his executrix for the benefit of her said son John Lloyd. And if he should die without marrying or before reaching the age of twenty-one years, then the remainder not used by him she wills to her said cousin Jane Brynker.
She wills and devises that if her said son John Lloyd dies without marrying or before reaching the age of twenty-one years, then the messuages, tenements and lands lately belonging to her father Lewis Lloyd to which she has claim to her nephew John Lloyd of Tyddyn bychan in county Carnarvon.
Nominates and appoints her said cousin Jane Brynker guardian and sole executrix in trust of her last will and testament for the sole use and benefit of her said son John Lloyd to whom she gives and bequeaths all the rest and residue of her personal estate.
She wills that her tenant Evan ap Robert of Coed y fron shall have the . . . . . of her son's estate and be in charge of looking after his timber and shall be allowed a reasonable yearly salary for his trouble, to whom she also gives 40 shillings.
Wills that her present maid Ellin Jones shall be employed and kept to take care of her son John Lloyd until he reaches the age of twelve years.
Nominates and appoints her said nephew John Lloyd and William Brynker the Younger of Brynker, Gent. to be her Trustees, desiring that they assist her said Executrix in Trust with the management and execution of her will.
