  Research Notes:

In 1833 John Evans was a witness at the marriage of his sister Elizabeth to Hugh Hunter Hughes.

In 1851 John Evans (36) of Abererch Caernarvonshire, Perpetual Curate of Pentrevoelas, and wife Mary (30) of Pwllheli Caernarvonshire, were living in Bron Eglwys, Pentrevoelas, Denbighshire. Present were children (born in Pentrevoelas Denbigh): John Owen (6), Ellen (4), Laura (3), Anne Sarah (1).

Named as a beneficiary in the Will of his aunt Lowry Owen of Fronfair in the Parish of Llanfair-juxta-Harlech in the County of Merioneth, spinster (written 1854).

In 1871 John Evans (56), Rector of the Parish, and wife Mary (50) were living in the Rectory, Llanllechid, Caernarvonshire. Present were daughters (born in Denbighshire, unmarried): Ellin (24), Ann Sarah (21).

In 1881 Jno. Evans (66) of Abererch, Rector of Llanllechid, and wife Mary (61) of Pwllheli, were living in the Rectory, Llanllechid.

In 1891 John Evans (76) of Abererch, Canon in residence, and wife Mary (70) of Pwllheli, were living in Canonry, High Street, Bangor.

The Will of the Venerable John Evans late of the Rectory in the Parish of Aber in the County of Carnarvon and of the Canonry in the City of Bangor, Clerk, Rector of Aber, Archdeacon of Merioneth and Canon Residentiary of Bangor Cathedral, who died 24 May 1891 at the said Canonry, was proved 21 July at Bangor by Mary Evans of the said Rectory, widow, the relict, the sole executrix. Personal estate £383 18s. 7d. 4
