Son and heir, had possession of Knowsley, Childwall &c. for twelve years, as by Inq. 8 Ric. II. Enrolled deed of 49 Edw. III. respecting Lathom settlements, 51 Edw. III. Died 6 Ric. II. 1382. 2

Sir Thomas de Lathom, the younger, succeeded his father in 1370. He was the Sir Oskell of the Lathom legend. He made an enfeoffment of his estates in 1376. He paid his quota of the aid to make the duke of Lancaster's son a knight in 1378. Two years later he was pardoned certain offences committed within the forest of West Derby, Joan his wife and Edward their son being included in the grant.... He died at the beginning of 1382, having been lord of Lathom for twelve years. 3

Writ de diem clausit extremum issued 21 Mar 1382..., Inq. p.m. 3rd July 7 Ric. 2, 1383.... He died after an illness of a quarter of a year at Knowslegh, and was buried at Burscough hastily and without ceremony, and attendance. 4
