The Will of Humphrey Lloyd of Rhydd allt, Gentleman, written 6 Feb 1806, proved 6 Mar 1809.

In the Name of God Amen. I Humphrey Lloyd of Rhydd allt in the County of Carnarvon Gentleman do make publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament in Manner and Form following that is to say

I give devise and bequeath all my several Terms and Lands with the appurtenances in the Parish of [Kerdarog] in the said County called Hafodycoed Hafod --?-- and Penrallt unto my Son John Lloyd his Heirs and Assigns forever upon Trust to sell and dispose of the same for the best Price or Prices that can be had or got for the same and by and out of the clear Money arising from such Sale to pay off and discharge all my just Debts Funeral Expenses & the Charge of the Probate of this my Will if the same shall be sufficient for that Purpose but if the same shall not be sufficient then I direct the Debts due and owing to me to be applied to the same Purpose but if both the above Funds shall not be sufficient then I ---?--- --?-- of my Debts as shall remain unpaid by and ---?--- the abovementioned Funds on my Messuage Tenement and Lands with the appurtenances in the Parish of Llanbeblig in the said ---?--- called Rhyddallt and subject thereto as aforesaid I give devise and bequeath my said Messuage Tenement and Lands called Rhyddallt and also the Stock and Household Goods and Furniture in the said Term[s] of what Nature or Kind soever unto Lowry my Wife for and during the Term of her natural Life in --?-- and after her Death I give devise and bequeath the same and every Part thereof unto my Son John Lloyd his Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns forever.

I give devise and bequeath unto Lowry my wife for and during the term of her natural life the house I lately built in the Town of Carnarvon with the Shop and other Appurtenances thereto belonging and also all my Household Furniture of what Nature or Kind soever in the said House and from and after the Death of my said Wife I give and bequeath all of said Household Furniture unto Margaret my Daughter and from and after the Death of my said Wife I give devise and bequeath my said House with the Shop and Appurtenances unto my Daughters Jane and Margaret their Heirs & Assigns forever as Tenants in common and not as joint Tenants.

I give devise and bequeath the several Houses with the Appurtenances in the Town of Carnarvon which I hold by Lease or Leases under Thomas Apheton? Smith Esquire unto my said Daughters Jane and Margaret their Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns for and during the Continuance of such Lease or Leases as Tenants in common and not as joint Tenants.

I give and bequeath unto my five Grandchildren Sons and Daughters of my said Daughter Jane the Sum of five Pounds apiece and I do hereby charge the same Legacies to my Grandson and Granddaughters in my said Tenement and Farm within Rhydd allt.

I give and bequeath all my Debts and other personal Estate not before bequeathed unto my Son John Lloyd to be paid and applied? in Payment of my just Debts Funeral Expenses and the Charge of the Probate of this my Will and I appoint my Son John Lloyd sole Executor of this my Will and hereby revoking all former Wills I declare this to be my last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I the said Testator Humphrey Lloyd have hereto set my Hand and Seal this sixth Day of February One Thousand Eight Hundred and Six.

Signed sealed published and declared by the said Testator Humphrey Lloyd as and for his last Will and Testament in the Presence of us who have hereto subscribed our Names as Witnesses in the Presence of the said Testator and of each other.

On the Sixth Day of March 1809 The Within Written Will was insinuated, proved, approved & in common form of Law decreed valid, the Within named Executor, John Lloyd, having sworn on the Holy Evangelists that the whole of the Goods Chattels & Credits of the deceased do not amount in Value to the amount of Two Hundred Pounds.

Know all Men... that We Margaret Thomas of Clipurog? in the County of Carnarvon Widow, William Lloyd Roberts of Carnarvon in the said County Gentleman, and Robert Griffith of Carnarvon aforesaid Merchant are severally held and firmly bound... in the Penal Sum of Forty Pounds &c...

The Condition of this Obligation is such that if the above bounden Margaret Thomas (Executrix named in the last Will and Testament of Jane Jones formerly of Clipurog? aforesaid Widow deceased) a Creditor of Humphrey Lloyd late of Rhyddallt in the said County of Carnarvon Gentleman deceased and as such Administratrix (with his last Will and Testament annexed) of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said Humphrey Lloyd deceased unadministered by his Son John Lloyd and Margaret Lloyd as his Executrix and legal Personal Representative of the said Humphrey Lloyd deceased do make or cause to be made a true and perfect Inventory of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said Humphrey Lloyd deceased unadministered, as aforesaid... on or before the Twentieth Day of October which shall be in the Year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and thirty three &c...

On the Seventeenth Day of October in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and thirty two Personally appeared the within bounden Margaret Thomas and alledged that Humphrey Lloyd late of Rhyddallt in the County of Carnarvon Gentleman departed this life having first duly made and published his last Will and Testament in writing bearing date the Sixth day of February 1806 and thereof appointed his Son John Lloyd sole Executor and residuary Legatee who on the Sixth day of March 1809 duly proved the same in the Consistory Court of Bangor That the said John Lloyd departed this life on the Tenth day of September 1814 without having fully administered the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said Humphrey Lloyd deceased but having first made and published his last Will and Testament bearing date the Seventeenth day of May 1814 and thereof appointed his Wife Margaret Lloyd the Executrix — That the said Margaret Lloyd also died on or about the Twenty sixth day of March 1829 Intestate and without Issue and without having administered to the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said Humphrey Lloyd unadministered by the said John Lloyd deceased as aforesaid That she this appearer on the Seventeenth day of October Instant under and by virtue of a Decree of the Consistory Court of Bangor (as Creditor of the said John Lloyd deceased) obtained Letters of Administration of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said John Lloyd unadministered by the said Margaret Lloyd deceased, and is thereby become the personal Representative of the said John Lloyd who whilst living was the sole Executor and residuary Legatee of the said Humphrey Lloyd deceased as aforesaid. Wherefore she prays that Administration of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said Humphrey Lloyd left unadministered by the said John Lloyd deceased annexed be granted to her on giving the usual Security.

Let Administration with the said Will of the said Humphrey Lloyd deceased annexed pass as prayed to the said Margaret Thomas she being first sworn on the Holy Evangelists as the Law directs and that the whole of the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said Humphrey Lloyd deceased unadministered as aforesaid do not amount to the Sum of £20.
