OBITUARY.

Mr. John Edwards, Q.C., late of Harcourt-buildings, Temple, who practised as a special pleader on the Northern Circuit, died last week at his residence, the Rosery, Ashton-on-Mersey, Cheshire, at the early age of 49 years. The deceased gentleman was the eldest son of Mr. John Edwards, of Higher Broughton, near Manchester. He was called to the Bar by the Honourable Society of Gray's Inn in Hilary Term, 1860, having obtained a certificate of honour. He practised for some time in Manchester as a conveyancer, and also attended the Manchester, Salford, and Lancashire sessions. Mr. Edwards, who obtained silk in 1874, married, in 1878, Katharine Sophia, third daughter of Mr. H. J. F. Swayne, of the Island, Wilton.
