In Nov 1894 Walter Newick was present at the marriage of his brother John Newick to Sarah Jane Medhurst in Mayfield Sussex.
At the time of the 1901 England Census Walter Newick, age 24, born in Etchingham Sussex, single, was working on the farm of Stephen Hayler in Hurstgreen, Etchingham, Sussex.
In the 1939 Register Walter Newick (b. 21 Dec 1876), single, builder's scaffolder, was living in Brays Cottage, Goudhurst, Kent.

GOUDHURST
FORMERLY a building worker, Mr. Walter Newick, 78, died in Pembury Hospital on May 5. Sussex born, he had lived for 40 years at Braze-cott. He served overseas with The Buffs in the 1914-18 war. Mr. and Mrs. Newick (nephew and niece) attended the funeral on Monday, with Mr. P. Fishenden and Mr. J. Gaston, representing the Ex-Servicemen's Club.
