At the time of the 1861 England Census Zechriah Smith, aged 13, born in Wootton Bassett Wilts, pupil teacher, was with his parents in High Street, Wootton Bassett.

Christened in 1863 aged 27 years.

At the time of the 1871 England Census Zachariah Smith, aged 24, born in Watton Bassett Wilts, journeyman butcher, and wife Louisa, aged 26, born in Wolvey Warwickshire, were living in Islington St. Clement, London. With them was son Richard A (3 mo) of Islington.

At the time of the 1881 England Census Zachariah Smith, aged 33, born in Wootton Bassett Wilts, journeyman butcher, and wife Louisa, aged 34, born in Wolvey Warwickshire, were living at 19 Barbara St., Islington London. Present were children (born in Islington) Richard A (10), scholar, Caroline (9), scholar, and Fanny L (6), scholar.
