Writing his Will in April 1724 Joseph Chapman of Waldron, yeoman, bequeathed 5 shillings to his daughter Mary the wife of Thomas Vallance, noting Mary has already received her portion except £5 for which he has made out a bill and given it to her husband Thomas Vallance to be paid to her after Joseph's decease.

For a lease by Thomas Vallance, Mary Vallance and Joseph Vallance to William Buckwell of Framfield, miller - in consideration of £21. 15s. due from the said Thomas Vallance to the said William Buckwell - of ½ acre of ground adjoining the house of Thomas Vallance at Blackboys for 11 years, at the yearly rent of 1d. In March 1740/1 Mary Vallance was a witness to the renunciation by Elizabeth Ranger of Framfield, widow, of the burden of executorship of the Will of her late husband William Ranger of Framfield, yeoman.
In 1741 Mary Vallance, widow, received £1 from the Will of Elizabeth Ranger of Framfield, widow, who also bequeathed £1 to Mary's daughter Elizabeth.
