Writing his Will in November 1852 John Blackman of Warbleton, gent., bequeathed $1,000 to his nephew Charles Chrismas. Charles died 7 months before John's Will was proved.
Charles Chrismas of Bexhill, gentleman, died intestate. A bond of £1,500 was paid by his brothers Thomas Chrismas 'the Younger' of Bexhill, gentleman, Henry Chrismas of Heathfield, farmer, and cousin Edward Davey of Brighton, butcher. Letters of Administration were granted to the said Thomas Chrismas of Bexhill on 3 Jul 1854.
On 15 Oct 1854 an act of court reswearing his brother, the administrator Thomas Chrismas of Bexhill, gent, to a revised valuation of the estate, and administration bond in £6000. 2
