In 1854 Thomas Chrismas and his brother Henry Chrismas were co-executors and residuary legatees of the Will of their uncle John Blackman of Warbleton, gent.
At the time of 1851 England Census Thomas Chrismas, aged 52, born in Heathfield Sussex, unmarried, and his brother Stephen Chrismas, aged 44, born in Heathfield, unmarried, were occupiers of 671 acres of land [with] 34 outdoor laborers, were lliving in Barnhorn Hill, Bexhill Sussex. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the PARTNERSHIP carried on as Farmers between THOMAS CHRISMAS and STEPHEN CHRISMAS (of the parish of Bexhill in the County of Sussex) is this 19th day of July, 1851, DISSOLVED BY MUTUAL CONSENT.
All claims on the partnership concern will be settled on application to Mr Thomas Chrismas, of Bexhill.

Thomas in trust for the use of the said Henry Chrismas, devises, with the said Thomas Chrismas, under the Will of the late John Blackman of Warbleton, gent., who had allowed the said Henry free one of the premises for many years on the understanding that they would be eventually left to him
By the said Will certain other property (marshland) in Herstmonceux was devised to the testator's cousin John Blackman of Hove, and a cottage in Warbleton to his workman William Catt for life with remainder to nephew Charles Chrismas, who died in testator's lifetime. At the time of the 1861 England Census Thomas Christmas, aged 62, born in Heathfield Sussex, farmer employing 17 men 8 boys, and wife Mary, aged 53, born in Hailsham Sussex, were living in Bexhill Sussex.
