William ANWYL of Cymerau

Anne LEWIS

  • Christened: Possibly 28 Aug 1778, Tal-y-Llyn, Merioneth, Wales 1
  • Married: 22 Feb 1800, Tal-y-Llyn, Merioneth, Wales 2
  • Died: After 1825

  Research Notes:

Sole Executrix and residuary legatee of the Will of her husband William Anwyl of Cwmerau (1803).

------------------------

Anne would have been somewhat younger than her husband William Anwyl (1761-1803) whom she married in 1800, at which time the marriage record states she was of Talyllyn. Anne may therefore have been the daughter of Edward Lewis & Elizabeth his wife, chr. 28 Aug 1778 in Talyllyn. Anne was living in 1825 when her son Edward Anwyl wrote his will and bequeathed to his mother an annual income of £7. Edward also named as beneficiaries his siblings Hugh and Elizabeth (surnames not given), who are not named in William Anwyl's will. Thus it seems likely that Anne re-married after 1803 and had Hugh and Elizabeth. So far, the compiler has been unable to locate this marriage; however, it should also be noted that there is no burial record for this Anne Anwyl after 1825 either in Montgomeryshire or Merionethshire.

  Marriage Information:

Anne married William ANWYL of Cymerau, son of Evan ANWYL of Llugwy & Penmaen and Margaret EVAN, on 22 Feb 1800 in Tal-y-Llyn, Merioneth, Wales. (William ANWYL was christened on 7 Nov 1761 in Pennal, Merioneth, Wales and was buried on 26 Mar 1803 in Pennal, Merioneth, Wales.)
