Abstract of the Will of Hugh Tyder of Eggryn in the County of Merioneth, Esqr, written 30 Sep 1699, proved 7 Jun 1700. 1

Refers to a deed indented bearing date 2 Jan 8 Will. III. [1696/7], in which he enfeoffed William Pugh of Mathavarn in the county of Montgomery Esqr, Richard Owen of Pennarth in the county of Merioneth gent., Edward Owen of Gwasladfryn in the said county of Merioneth gent., and Edward Wynn of Llangower in county Merioneth gent. (amongst the rest of his lands & tenements) of two messuages or tenements called Tythin maur and Caer Llogn, chargeable with the sum of £200 to the use of his last will and testament.

Directs that out of the said £200 his debts be paid and legacies performed as follows...

Gives & bequeaths 40 shillings to the poor of the parish of Llanaber.

Gives & bequeaths 20 shillings to the poor of the parish of Llanthywee.

Gives & bequeaths 20 shillings to the poor of the parish of Llanenddwyn.

Gives & bequeaths 5 shillings to his nephew Hugh Owen and his short hilted sword.

Gives & bequeaths 5 shillings to his niece Katherine Owen.

Gives & bequeaths £10 to his nephew Lewis Owen.

Gives & bequeaths £10 to his niece Susan Owen.

Gives & bequeaths £10 to his godddaughter Lowry Owen of Dol y seren.

Gives & bequeaths £5 to his maid-servant Margarett Jones over and above her wages.

All the rest and residue of the £200 and his household goods at Eggryn and Wrexham shall be divided between his sister Jane Owen and his cousin Jane the wife of Robert Owen of Dol y seren in the county of Merioneth gent., share and share alike.

Gives & bequeaths all his goods, chattels, implements of husbandry and household stuff at Kefn Bodig to his wife Anne whom he nominates & appoints sole executrix of his last will and testament.

Gives & bequeaths to his cousin Trevor Davies all his best clothes and best linen and his best hat and his choice of the rest of his wearing apparel, and the sum of 20 shillings.
