In Mar 1879 Emily Parks, widow of James Parks of Hailsham, manufacturer's clerk, was the sole executrix of her husband's Will.

At the time of the 1881 England Census Emily Parks, age 27, born in Hailsham, widow, lodging ho keeper, was living in Albert Place, Hailsham. With her were daughters (born in Hailsham): Gertrude (5), scholar, Marion (4), and niece Gertrude A Parks (14) of Camberwell Surrey, general servant.

At the time of the 1891 England Census Emily Parks, age 36, born in Winster Derbyshire*, widow, was working as a certified nurse in Hempstead House, Hailsham.

* Emily was the eldest child and her parents were married in Winster Derbyshire. However, the records indicate they returned to Hailsham where Emily was born.

In Mar 1895 Emily Parks was present at the marriage of her sister Lucy Henrietta Wenham to Edward Burgess in Eastbourne.

At the time of the 1911 England Census Emily Parks, age 55, born in Hailsham, widow, certified maternity nurse, was living at 2 Melbourne Villas, Hailsham. With her was daughter Gertrude Parks (35) of Hailsham, assistant teacher.

P.S. Clarke said that two forms were handed in at the police station, but not within the necessary 24 hours.
Defendant, who did not appear, was fined 5s.
