At the time of the 1855 Massachusetts State Census Sarah S. Trowbridge, age 46, born in England, and husband William F. Trowbridge, age 65, born in Mass., machinist, were living in Bolton, Worcester, Massachusetts. With them were children (born in Canada West): James C. (17), shoemaker, Frederick W. (14), Augustus S. (11), Henrietta (8).

At the time of 1870 US Census Sarah Trowbridge, aged about 56, born in England, keeping house, was living in Hudson, Middlesex, Massachusetts. With her were James C. Trowbridge, aged about 32, born in Canada, works for carpenter, Frederick Trowbridge, aged about 27, born in Canada, works in shoe factory, and Agustus Trowbridge, aged about 26, born in Canada, works in shoe factory.

At the time of 1880 US Census Sally S. Trowbridge, age 72, born in England, keeping house, was living in Hudson, Middlesex, Massachusetts. With her was son James C. Trowbridge, age 30, born in Canada, works in shoe shop.
