In 1635 William Akehirst was bequeathed one silver bowl, one featherbed and one bolster in the Will of his maternal grandmother Joan Younge of Wilmington, widow.

In Oct 1644 William son of John Akeherst was bequeathed £10 in the Will of his grandfather-in-law* Nicholas Bodle, Jurate of the Liberty of Pevensey, to be paid to him when he reaches the age of twenty-one years. ²

* Nicholas Bodle was the second husband of William's paternal grandmother Margaret.
