At the time of the 1861 England Census Frederick J Potter, aged 27, born in Warbleton Sussex, railway station clerk, and wife Amelia A, aged 23, born in Hurstmonceux, were living in Glynde Station, Beddingham Sussex.

At the time of the 1871 England Census Frederick J Potter, aged 37, born in Warbleton Sussex, railway station master, and wife Amelia A, aged 33, born in Hurstmonceux, were living in Railway cottages, Southwick Sussex.
