"Obituary: Mrs. John Ross.
The death occurred, on Friday afternoon, of Mrs. Mary Jane Ross, wife of Mr. John Ross, of' Victoria Street, at the age of 70 years. The deceased lady was born at Young (then known as Lambing Flat), being a daughter of the late George Draper, and came to this district while still a child.
After her marriage with Mr. John Ross she took up her residence at Deep Lead, where she lived for 36 years, the old couple removing into town some four years ago. Mrs. Ross had been in ill health since she suffered a stroke four years ago, There was a further stroke on Saturday week, and Mrs. Ross lapsed into unconsciousness, from which she did not recover.
Besides her husband the late Mrs. Ross, is survived by two sons and four daughters, the sons being Mr. John Ross (Bourke) and Mr. Harold Ross (Parkes), and the daughters were Mesdames Fred Venables (Gunningbland), Arthur Resker (Tamworth), Percy Branson (Parramatta), and Mrs. Albert Root (Parkes).
The funeral took place on Saturday afternoon, to the Anglican Cemetery, where the burial service was read iby the Rev. A. E. Weston, The funeral arrangements were in the hands of Mr. J. T. Cock." 3
