At the time of the 1891 England Census Elizabeth Palmer, aged 34, born in Portsmouth Hants, staymaker, and husband George Palmer, aged 34, born in Portsmouth, chief stoker Royal Navy, were living at 23 Glidden St., Portsea Hants. With them were daughter Elizabeth J (5) of Portsmouth, mother Elizabeth Emery (72) of Portsmouth, widow, retired staymaker, and George Emery (57) of Portsmouth, single, brickmaker.
