In 1851 Broome Chesterman, aged 22, born in Cliffe Pypard, agricultural labourer, was with his parents in Cotmarsh, Clyffe Pypard.

In 1861 Broom Chesterman, aged 32, born in Calne, farm labourer, and wife Martha, aged 34, born in Broadhinton were living in Bynoll Cottage Broad Hinton. With them were children (born in Broadhinton): John (8), Henry (7), Elizabeth (5), Edwin (4), Jane (2), Ann (4 months).

In 1871 Broom Chesterman, aged 42, born in Calne, ag lab, and wife Martha, aged 43, born in Cliffe Pypard were living in Bynoll, Broad Hinton. Present were children (born in Broad Hinton): Edwin (14), ag lab, Jane (12), ag lab, Ann (10), scholar, Tom (8), scholar, George (5), scholar, Mary (3), Martha (9 months).
