Abstract of the Will of William Rawlings of the Town of Penzance in the County of Cornwall, Gentleman, written 15 May 1737, proved 13 Jul 1737. 5
Gives to his wife Elizabeth an annuity of £40, along with the use during her widowhood of his tenement in Penzance, the household stuff, linen and furniture. After her death the tenement and contents will pass to his son William Rawlings.
Gives to his wife Elizabeth 20 guineas for mourning.
Gives £600 to his daughter Mary Rawlings, to be paid to her when she turns twenty-one or marries, whichever happens first. He also gives her a chest of drawers.
Gives £600 to his daughter Lydia Rawlings, to be paid to her when she turns twenty-one or marries, whichever happens first.
Gives to his uncle and friend John Jenkins of the town of Penzance, merchant, and George Borlase of the same place, Gentleman, a ring each.
All the rest of his goods and chattels he gives to his son William Rawlings, then an infant. If William should die before turning twenty-one, then the remainder of his estate will go to his said two daughters.
Nominates his wife Elizabeth, the said John Jenkins and George Borlase, guardians of his three children during their respective minorities, and appoints his son William Rawling sole executor of his last and will and testament once he has reached the age of twenty-one years.
