At Penzance, on Monday last, Frances, daughter of the late Rev. Henry Penneck, formerly Vicar of Paul, in this county, and afterwards Rector of Cheriton Fitzpaine, Devon, aged 89 years.

Abstract of the Will of Frances Penneck of the Town of Penzance in the County of Cornwall, Spinster, written 8 Oct 1837, proved 6 Jul 1848. 2

To be buried in the parish church of Paul in co. Cornwall as near as possible to the remains of her parents, directing that a plain marble monument be erected over their remains, bearing the family coat of arms. Gives £50 to her executors for that purpose.

Gives £100 to her nephew Henry Penneck, clerk, and her silver plate and coffee pot and stand.

Gives £20 to her friend Richard Pearce of Penzance, merchant.

Gives to her niece Sarah Pearce her clothing, household linen, china and her late sister's portrait.

Gives to Lydia Penneck Pearce, daughter of the said Richard Pearce and Sarah his wife, her watch, her best chest of drawers and cabinet.

Gives to Maria Jones Pearce her writing desk.

Gives to Maria Wren, her servant for more than twenty years, the bed she occupies, the small chest of drawers in her room, whatever of her clothing her niece Sarah Pearce won't wear, and an annuity of £5 for life.

The rest of her money and security for monies she gives to her two friends John Deeble Brown, Esqr. of Polwin in co. Cornwall, and George Dennis John, Esqr. of Penzance, and to her nephew Henry Penneck, clerk, in trust, for the benefit of her niece Sarah Pearce and her heirs.

The remainder of her effects she gives to her nephew Henry Penneck, clerk.

Appoints her niece Sarah Pearce executrix of her will.

In a codicil dated 17 Feb 1840 she gives a further annuity of £5 to her servant Maria Wren.

In a further codicil dated 12 Apr 1844 she increased the bequest she made to her nephew Henry Penneck from £100 to £500. She also increased the bequest made to her friend Richard Pearce from £20 to £100.
