Also bond for performance of covenants, of even date.

Abstract of the Will of John Borlase of Pendeen in the Parish of St. Just-in-Penwith, Gentleman, written 2 Oct 1693, proved 18 May 1694. 7

Gives £100 to his wife and "a great p' of Portugall gold of fower Pistoles", furniture and other household stuff.

Gives to his son John Borlase and his heirs male his tenement in Chynerk in the parish of St. Just. He also gives John all his stock and corn on the tenement of Pendeen.

Gives to his son Richard Borlase his tenement called Cedna Cooth in the parish of St. Crett [Creed] with its tin and tin mine.

Gives £550 to his son William Borlase, to be paid to him when he turns twenty-three.

Gives £550 to his son Nicholas Borlase, to be paid to him when he turns twenty-three.

Gives £550 to his son George Borlase, to be paid to him when he turns twenty-three.

Gives to his daughter Mary Pearce £10 for mourning, over and above what he has paid and agreed to pay on her marriage.

Gives £500 to his daughter Isabella, to be paid to her when she marries or when she turns twenty-three, whichever happens first.

Gives £500 to his daughter Margery, to be paid to her when she marries or when she turns twenty-three, whichever happens first.

Gives £500 to his daughter Katherine, to be paid to her when she marries or when she turns twenty-three, whichever happens first.

Gives to John Borlase his eldest son and his wife £10 to buy mourning, and two guineas to buy them gold rings.

Gives £5 to his grandson John Borlase.

Gives £5 to his granddaughter Lidia Borlase.

Gives £5 to the poor of the parish of St. Just.

Gives £5 to the church of St. Just.

Gives 10 shillings each to his godchildren.

Gives 10 shillings each to his house servants.

Gives to his wife Mary Borlase and his son Richard Borlase all his goods and chattels, both real and personal, appointing them co-executors of his last will and testament, to pay his debts, legacies and maintenance for his children.

Nominates William Borlase of Plymouth, Gent., his son John Borlase, John Ustick the younger of Botallacke, Gent. and Richard Pearce of Penzance, Gent. to be his trustees of his last will and testament.

  Marriage Information:

John married Mary Keigwin, daughter of Richard Keigwin and Margery Godolphin, about 1665. (Mary Keigwin was christened 12 Jul 1640 in Madron, Cornwall and was buried on 11 Jan 1704/5 in St. Just-in-Penwith, Cornwall.)
