In 1841 Charity James (30) and husband Richard James (35), carpenter, were living in Chenhall Downs, Sithney. With them were children: Jane (5), Charity (3), Richard (1)

In 1851 Charity James (42) of Sithney [sic] and husband Richard James (45) of Sithney, carpenter/10 acres land, were living in Camborne Rd., Crowan Town, Sithney. Present were children (born in Sithney): Jane (16), Charity (13), Richard (11), William (9), Mary (3), Hariet (3m).

In 1861 Charity James (51) of Crowan and husband Richard James (55) of Sithney, carpenter & grocer, were living in Crown Town, Sithney. Present were children (born in Sithney): Charity Bawden (22), dressmaker, Richard (21), carpenter, William (19), farm labourer, Mary Bawden (13), scholar.

In 1871 Charity James (62) and husband Richard James (65), builder & grocer, were living in Sithney. Present were daughters Charity B. (32), assistant in grocer's shop, and Mary B. (21), assistant in grocer's shop.

In May 1875 Charity James, widow, was granted Administration of her husband's personal effects.

In 1881 Charity James (72) of Crowan, widow, grocer & farmer of 6 acres, was living in Sithney. Present were daughters Charity Bawden (42), housekeeper, and Mary Bawden (32), both unmarried.

The Will of Charity James late of the parish of Sithney in the county of Cornwall, widow, who died 2 January 1891 at Sithney, was proved 17 February at Bodmin by Mary Bawden Andrewartha (wife of Richard Andrewartha) of Crowntown in Sithney, the daughter, the sole executrix. Personal estate £77. ⁴
