"FIRST WEDDING IN TROON WESLEYAN CHAPEL.

The young couple who are able to lay claim to this record are Miss Margaret Banfield Prideaux, eldest daughter of Mr. John Prideaux (who for years has been an ardent worker and local preacher in the Wesleyan circuit), of Bosahan Villa, Troon, and Mr. Wm. John Jenkin (builder), eldest son of the late Mr. W. H. Jenkin, of Wendron, the event taking place on Saturday last, Dec. 2nd. The bride who was given away by her father has for a good many years been a teacher in the Troon Wesleyan Sunday School, and the young lady has in addition taken an active part in all work connected with the chapel. The bridegroom has also been a teacher in the same school, and in addition to other good work undertaken by him, he has been secretary of the Band of Hope. The service was performed by the Rev. W. Henry Thompson (Chairman of the Cornwall District). The bride was attired in a cream serge dress trimmed with lace and a bonnet to match artistically adorned with osprey. The bridesmaids were Misses Mary Laity and Annie Prideaux (sisters of the bride) and Miss Janie Jenkin (sister of the bridegroom). The wore Delane dresses trimmed with heliotrope and white hats. After the wedding, the happy couple, together with the relatives and friends, lunched together at the residence of the bride's father. Subsequently Mr. and Mrs. Jenkin left for a short stay at Porthleven....." ⁴
