In July 1905 Alfred Marks, brewery traveller, was granted Probate of his late father's personal effects.

In September 1907 Alfred Marks, brewery traveller, was granted Probate of the personal effects of his late brother James Marks.

In 1911 Alfred Marks, aged 36, born in Redruth Cornwall, brewer's traveller, and wife of 3 years Edith Marks, aged 29, born in Redruth, were living at 9 Claremont Rd., Redruth. With them was son James (2).

In 1921 Alfred Marks, aged 46 years 6 months, born in Redruth Cornwall, brewer's traveller (retired), and wife Edith Marks, aged 39 years 6 months, born in Redruth, were living in Tolgus Vian, Sparnon Gate, Redruth. With them were children (born in Redruth) James (12y 7m), Thomas (10), and Elsie (7y 10m), and father-in-law William Hy Martin (68) of Towednack Cornwall, widower, outfitter's traveller (retired).

In the 1939 Register Alfred Marks (b. 26 Dec 1874), retired brewer's traveller, and wife Edith Marks (b. 23 Dec 1881), unpaid domestic duties, were living at 2 Harbour View, Hayle, Cornwall.

MR. A. MARKS, OF HAYLE.

The funeral of Mr. Alfred Marks took place on Thursday at Redruth parish cemetery, following a service held at St. Elwyn Church, Hayle. Rev. R. J. Faithful officiated at the church and graveside.

Mr. Marks was in the employ of Redruth Brewery as traveller for many years. A native of Redruth, his health was not always good, and some years ago he retired and resided at Hayle. He was a familiar person, very thoughtful and most careful in speaking of others. He often said in talk, "If you cannot say good of anyone, then hold your tongue."

The mourners were: Mrs. E. Marks (widow), Mr. Tom Marks (son), Miss E. Marks (daughter), Mrs. Symons (sister), Mr. Symons (brother-in-law), Redruth ; Mr. Martin (Carbis Bay), Mr. Wingate (Plymouth), Mr. E. T. Pasco, Capt. J. Couch, Mr. J. R. Gudge, Mr. L. C. Easterbrook, Mr. R. Hammill, Mr. J. B. James, Mr. W. Tregoning, Mrs. Crothers, Mr. G. Pool, Mr. Wearne, Mrs. T. Chinn, Messrs. H. Millett, W. Berryman, G. Morgan, G. Williams, T. Mathers and others....

The coffin was of English oak, panelled, with silver fittings, and on the plate was engraved: "Alfred Marks, died Feb. 16th, 1943, aged 68 years." ....
