  Research Notes:

In 1871 Charles Stone, aged 17, born in Ruan Minor Cornwall, unmarried, farmer's son, was with his widowed mother Mary in Long alley, Ruan Minor.

In 1881 Charles Stone, aged 27, born in Ruan Minor Cornwall, unmarried, farmer, was living in Long Alley, Ruan Minor. Present were sister Mary* Williams (40) of Ruan Minor, married, housekeeper, nieces Priscilla Williams and Annie Williams of Ruan Minor, aged 15 and 7 respectively.

* This should be Margaret, aged about 40 in 1881, who married Richard James Williams.

In 1891 Charles Stone, aged 37, born in Ruan Minor Cornwall, farmer, and wife Emily, aged 28, born in Helston Cornwall, were living in Long Alley, Ruan Minor. With them were children (born in Long Alley) Maud (7), scholar, Edward (6), scholar, Christopher (4), and Gertrude (1).

In 1901 Charles Stone, aged 47, born in Ruan Minor Cornwall, farmer, and wife Emily, aged 38, born in Helston Cornwall, were living in Longalley, Ruan Minor. With them were children (born in Ruan Minor) Christopher (14), Gertrude (11), Laura (9), Alfred (7), Emily (4) and Horace (2).

In 1911 Charles Stone, aged 57, born in Ruan Minor, widower, farmer (own acct), father of 8 children, was living in Long Alley, Ruan Minor. With him were children (born in Ruan Minor) Christopher (23), agricultural labourer, Gertrude (21), housekeeper, Alfred (17), rural postman, Emily (14), school part-time, helps at home, and Horace 12), at school.

In 1921 Charles Stone, aged 67, born in Ruan Minor, widower, retired farmer, was living in Longalley, Ruan Minor. With him were sons Christopher Chas. (34), single, farmer, and Emily Priscilla (24), single, housekeeper.

Charles married Emily Curnow, daughter of William Curnow and Mary Anne Exelby, on 30 Nov 1882 in Falmouth, Cornwall. (Emily Curnow was born in 1863 in Helston, Cornwall, christened 5 Apr 1863 in Ruan Major, Cornwall, and was buried on 6 Nov 1903 in Ruan Major, Cornwall, aged 40 years.)
