At the time of the 1911 England Census Friend Bristow, age 30, born in Tonbridge Kent, bricklayer, and wife of 8 years Louie, age 30, born in Lenham Kent (mother of 4 children), were living at 54 Lavender Hill Tonbridge Kent. With them were children (born in Tonbridge): Victor (8), Neville (6), Cyril (5) and Dora (3 months).
In the 1939 Register Friend Bristow (b. 12 Sep 1880), bricklayer, and wife Louie A Bristow (b. 28 Jan 1881), unpaid domestic duties, were living in Ashton Potman's Lane, Bexhill, Ninfield, Sussex. At the same address was [daughter] Dora L Sweatman (b. 1 Jan 1911), married, unpaid domestic duties.

Mr. F. Bristow
Mr. Friend Bristow of 8, Kenilworth-road, St. Leonards, who died on Tuesday last week, aged 68, at the Buchanan Hospital, was a well-known builder and had made many friends. He came from Ninfield about eight years ago, where he carried on business as builder, and retired about four months ago owing to ill-health.
The funeral was on Saturday at Ninfield Parish Church, where the Rev. H. Bradburn (rector) officiated....
The mourners were the widow, Mr. and Mrs. V. Bristow, Mr. N. Bristow, Mr. and Mrs. C. Bristow, Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Sweatman, Mr. and Mrs. Wickenden (Tonbridge), Mrs. Finn, Mrs. Millen, Mr. J.
