In 1851 Edward Hopkin, aged 26, born in Oaksey Wiltshire, general clerk, and wife Mary, aged 24, born in Oaksey, were living at White Lion Inn, Llandaff Glamorgan Wales. With them were sons (born in Pontypridd Glamorgan) Thomas (3) and Evan (9 mo).
In 1871 Edward Hopkins, aged 45, born in Oaksey Wiltshire, no occupation, and wife Mary, aged 42, born in Oaksey, were lodging in Severn Road, Canton Glamorgan.
