Amos Sayers, bachelor, married Ellen Simmonds, spinster, in Dec 1874, making Ernest William Simmons Ellen's natural-born son (though given Amos and Ellen married just over 4 months after Ernest was born it is entirely possible Amos was Ernest's biological father).
