María Ordóñez named her nine children in an 1141 donation, in the order shown in this document. The Chronica Adefonsi Imperatoris records that King Alfonso VII "took a concubine…Guntroda, the daughter of Pedro Díaz and María Ordóñez…who belonged to the greatest family of the Asturians and the Tinians", dated to [1130/32] from the context. “Gontrodo Petri...cum domina mea, et filia Urraca” donated property to the monastery of Santa María de Vega near Oviedo by charter dated 13 Oct 1153.
She became a nun at the monastery of Santa María de Vega near Oviedo. Florez reproduces the epitaph in the same monastery which records the death in 1186 of “Guntrodo”. 1
