Empress Eudoxia INGERINA
- Married: 865, Constantinople
- Died: 882
- Buried: Church of the Holy Apostles, Constantinople
Research Notes:
Symeon Magister records that "Basilium" married "Eudocia Ingerina" in the eleventh year of the reign of Emperor Mikhael III. She was previously the mistress of Emperor Mikhael III, from whom Empress Theodora obliged her to separate in 855. Presumably she was the mistress of Basileios before eventually marrying him. The Vita Basilii names "Ingeris filia" and in a later passage "uxor…Eudocia". Emperor Konstantinos VII's De Ceremoniis Aulæ records that "Basilium et eius uxorem Eudociam et filiam Alexandrum" were buried in the church of the Holy Apostles. 1
