In 1824 James Large became a beneficiary of his father's Will.
In 1851 James Large, aged 52, born in Lyneham Wilts, agriculturalist occupying 640 acres employing 40 labourers, and wife Lucy Large, aged 52, born in Chilton Wilts, were living in Prospect Villa, Hillmarton Wilts. With them were daughters Sarah (21) and Anne (16).
