At the time of the 1851 England Census William Barrow, aged 73, born in Heathfield, brickmaker & farmer of 100 acres employing 5 labs., and wife Lucy Barrow, aged 67, born in Heathfield Sussex, were living in "Old Runt & Son", Heathfield. With them was son Stephen (23) of Heathfield, farmer's son.
At the time of the 1861 England Census William Barrow, aged 83, born in Heathfield Sussex, widower, retired farmer & brickmaker, was living in Runt & Son Road, Heathfield. With him were son Richard (49) of Heathfield, widower, ag. lab, grandsons William Barrow* (19) of Burwash, ag lab, and James* (13) of Burwash, brickmaker's assistant.
