Abstract of the Will of Richard Tayler of Heathfield in the County of Sussex, written 22 Jan 1603, proved 8 Jul 1603. 2
Gives 2 shillings to the poor of the parish of Heathfield.
Gives & bequeaths £5 to his daughter Margaret to paid to her within two years of his decease. If Margaret dies before then, the said amount is to be divided between her four children, to wit: 20 shillings to Joseph, 20 shillings to Rachel, 20 shillings to Lydia, and 40 shillings to Moses, to be paid to their father Moses Tiherst his son-in-law.
Gives 10 shillings to his daughter Joane.
Gives £5 to his daughter Katharine.
Gives & bequeaths £5 to his daughter Mary, to be paid to her when she reaches the age of 18 years.
Gives £5 to his daughter Elizabeth, to be paid to her when she reaches the age of 18 years.
Gives 10 shillings to his son Thomas Taylor.
The residue of his goods & chattels he gives and bequeaths to his wife Katharine whom he makes sole executrix of his last will and testament.
Appoints his friends and kinsmen John Fuller, John Taylor and Thomas Willard overseers of his Will.
Directs that his wife Katharine shall receive an annuity or annual rent of £4 from his lands & tenements for the term of her natural life. After her decease he wills the same to his son Thomas Taylor and his heirs forever, conditional on Thomas paying £10 each to his four sisters Joane, Katharine, Mary & Elizabeth.
