At the time of the 1851 England Census Benjamin Blackley, aged 17, born in Dover Kent, shoemaker, was with his father and stepmother / aunt at 24 White Street, St. George the Martyr, Southwark Surrey.

At the time of the 1861 England Census Benjamin Blackley, aged 26, born in Dover Kent, boot & shoe maker, and wife Jane [sic], aged 21, born in Stepney Middlesex, boot binder, were living at 40 Market Street, St. George Southwark, Surrey. With them was daughter Alice (2) of Bermondsey Surrey.

At the time of the 1871 England Census Benjamin Blackley, aged 37, born in Dover Kent, labourer, was with his father and stepmother / aunt at 21 Mints St., St. Mary Magdalene, Bermondsey London.

At the time of the 1881 England Census Benjamin Blackley, aged 47, born in Dover Kent, porter, and [2nd] wife Matilda, aged 43, born in Epping Essex, were living at 38 Crosby Row, Bermondsey London. With them were children (born in Wapping Middlesex): William* (9), scholar, and Benjamin (3).

At the time of the 1891 England Census Benjamin Blakeley, aged 58, born in Dover Kent, 21/8 galvanised drum tester, and wife Matilda, aged 49, born in Romford Essex, were living at 1 Crown Cottages, Tabard Street, St. George the Martyr Southwark Surrey. With them were son Benjamin (13) of Newington London, scholar, and Matilda's son William Feald (20) of St. Saviours London, bag maker.
