In May 1846 Kate Callaway and her future husband Daniel Pine were present at the marriage of Kate's brother James Callaway to Emily Tucker in Chatham Kent.
At the time of the 1851 England Census Kate Callaway, aged 27, born in Newington, dressmaker, was visiting [her brother] William Callaway and his family in Detling Kent.
Kate and her family arrived in Lyttelton New Zealand from London aboard the vessel Cameo on 11 Jul 1859.
