In 1810 John Blackman, eldest son of John Blackman deceased, was the sole executor and residuary legatee of the Will of his 1st cousin twice removed James Bristed of Warbleton, gent.

At the time of the 1841 England Census John Blackman, aged 67, farmer, was living in Foul Mile, Warbleton Sussex. With him were nurse Mary Rickman (25), farm servants Mary Saunders (30), Elizabeth Wilmhurst (25), and ag lab Thomas Saunders (20). John's brother Henry Blackman was living nextdoor.

At the time of the 1851 England Census John Blackman, aged 76, born in Wartling, widower, farmer of 490 acres employing 15 labourers, was living in Foul Mile, Warbleton Sussex. With him were housekeeper Mary Rickman (43) of Hailsham, servants Hannah Chrismas (28) of Wartling, Richard Gurr (18) of Warbleton and George Henty (13) of Warbleton. Brother Henry Blackman was living nearby.

----------------------------

John Blackman of Warbleton died aged 73 years (burial record). John's age is understated by six years. The family members named in his Will (below), along with his age in the 1841 and 1851 England Censuses, indicate that this is the correct John Blackman.
