With them were children (born in Ashford): Isabel (5), scholar, Amanah? (2), and William (6m). Maria's sister Elizabeth Goldsmith and her family were living in the same place.
At the time of the 1871 England Census Maria Jones, age 35, born in Ashford Kent, and husband William Jones, age 42, born in Maidstone Kent, bricklayer, were living at 26 Carrick's Row, Ashford Kent. With them were children (born in Ashford): Isabel (14), housekeeper, Aramnah? At the time of the 1911 England Census Maria Jones, age 75, born in Ashford Kent (mother of 9 children, 4 deceased), was living in Park House, Park Street, Ashford. With her were son Jehu Jones (43) of Ashford, bricklayer, and his wife of 7 years Charlotte (40) of Woodmancote Sussex (no children).

DEATH OF MRS. M. JONES.—The death occurred at Park House, Park-street, on Saturday, of Mrs. Maria Jones, widow of Mr. William Jones, builder. Mrs. Jones, who was 85 years of age, had lived at Ashford practically all her life, and had resided at Park House for sixty-six years. The funeral took place on Thursday, the service being conducted by Mr. Hollands, of the Plymouth Brethren, to which body the deceased had for many years belonged. The mourners present were Mr. Jehu Jones (son), Miss K. Jones (daughter), Mr. and Mrs. Usherwood (son-in-law and daughter), Mr. and Mrs. Youell (son-in-law and daughter), Mrs. Spain (granddaughter), Messrs. E. Usherwood and W. Youell (grandsons), Miss Usherwood (granddaughter), and Mr. T. Goldsmith (nephew). Members of the Plymouth Brethren attended, and floral tributes were sent by Jehu, Kate, Charlotte and Alice; Charlie; Annie, Barney and family; little Barney; Mr. and Mrs. T. Goldsmith and Mr. and Mrs. F. Goldsmith; Mrs. Dudley (Maidstone); Mr. and Mrs. Usherwood; Inspector and Mrs. Hawkett; little Muriel; Mrs. Goodfellow.
