* Beatrice Akehurst was natural-born and does not appear to have been christened. Her mother was one of the three elder daughters of James and Maria Akehurst. Beatrice Akehurst married on 2 Mar 1916 in Hammersmith London to Thomas Burnand, a Private in the 10th Middlesex Battalion. At the time she stated that her father was James Akehurst (deceased), labourer, who was her grandfather.
