By THOMAS NEALE senr. of Lyndfield, butcher, and GEORGE NEWTON of Lyndfield, gent. to JEREMIAH GOWER of Lyndfield, clothworker, of the above grant of 26 March, 1689 Mary Neale afterwards married Robert Fitz Hugh and by her Will appointed the said George Newton and Thomas Neale her executors who sold the said cottage to Jeremiah Gower for £40, to hold for the residue of the said term of 300 years. Jeremiah "Gowarth" (later spelled Gower) appears in the 1718 Land Tax and 1723 Poor Rate for his house and field (next to Lindfield Common) and in the poor Rates until 1735 x 1740 when the new ratepayer was John Gower. 4

Gives and bequeaths £20 to his daughter Sarah Cox wife of John Cox of Keymer, husbandman.
Gives and bequeaths to his son Jeremiah Gower of Ardingly and his heirs three acres of field or meadow in Lindfield town common, currently occupied by his son John Gower or his assigns.
Gives and bequeaths to his son John Gower and his heirs his dwelling house with its outhouses, buildings, gardens, orchard, and associated premises.
Gives and bequeaths £20 to his daughter Hannah Osborn the wife of Thomas Osborn of Whiteing in co. Sussex, husbandman.
All the rest of his goods, chattels, debts, credits, and personal estate he gives to his two sons Jeremiah Gower and John Gower, share and share alike, appointing them co-executors of his last will and testament.
