Abstract of the Will of Catherine Lloyd of Vriog in the Parish of Llanfachreth and County of Merioneth, Widow, written 4 Oct 1700, proved 23 Jul 1701.

Wills that her body be buried in the parish churchyard of Llanfachreth.

Gives and bequeaths to her son Thomas Roberts the bedstead currently in the parlour at Friog, along with one feather bed, bolster, curtains and other appurtenances.

Gives and bequeaths to her son Thomas Roberts a cupboard currently in the parlour at Friog.

Gives and bequeaths 50 shillings to her granddaughter Catherine Thomas.

Gives and bequeaths 50 shillings to her granddaughter Catherine Humphrey.

Gives and bequeaths 50 shillings to her goddaughter Catherine Roberts, one of the daughters of her nephew Griffith Roberts.

Gives and bequeaths 20 shillings to the poor of the parishes of Llanfachreth and Trawsfynydd, to be distributed according to the discretion of her daughters Margaret Roberts and Dorothy Roberts, and her niece Jane Roberts als. Glynne of Rhiwgôch.

If her eldest son Thomas Roberts should die leaving behind the estate falling to her Executor, then she charges her Executor to pay each of his sisters Margaret and Dorothy £10 [margin note].

All the rest and residue of her personal estate she gives and bequeaths to her son Robert Roberts whom she appoints sole Executor of her last will and testament.

Desires that her nephew Griffith Roberts and her cousin William Williams of Park be Overseers of her last will and testament.

On 13 Oct 1700 an inventory of the goods and chattels of Catherine Lloyd of Vriog in the Parish of Llanvachreth lately deceased was taken by Ellis Lloyd and Robert Morris and valued to £29 14s.

Administration was granted to Griffith Roberts, guardian of Robert Roberts the Executor who was was still a minor. 1
